Summary of This Method

This method in the French version follows in the tradition of the famous instrumental methods published by Faber Music. It was designed to guide young instrumentalists step by step in acquiring the basics: reading, rhythm, tone, initial technical reflexes, and musical setup. The presentation emphasizes a progressive and reassuring development, ideal for individual lessons as well as instrumental classes, with content structured enough to provide a framework while remaining dynamic to maintain the desire to play.

The core of the learning is based on a wide selection of short, playful, and varied pieces. From classical repertoire to traditional themes, the method also opens the door to more "colorful" styles to develop musicality, phrasing, and listening skills from the very first weeks. Warm-ups and fun exercises reinforce tone technique and instrumental ease, while practical information and technical advice help the student understand notation and adopt good habits, including instrument maintenance.

The collective dimension is particularly emphasized: duets and trios encourage playing with others alongside a teacher, another student, or a pianist. The included CD becomes a true practice partner, offering accompaniments (piano and instrument) as well as orchestral playbacks to train, work on pulse, and gain confidence. A teacher's book is available separately for each instrument to further support pedagogical guidance. Appreciated for its clear and well-thought-out design, this method also stands out with its central poster dedicated to saxophone tablature, a very useful visual aid for students.
