Summary of This Score
Melom@.net is an educational work conceived as a true musical playground centered around the theme of video games. Each song deliberately calls upon references and colors from diverse horizons to open listening and stimulate curiosity: traditional music from Africa, the Orient, America, Eastern Europe, as well as deliberate nods to the founding figures of contemporary music and jazz, not to mention the influence of composers from the classical repertoire. The goal is clear: to enable musicians to engage in living practices (interpretation, oral transmission, arrangement, improvisation), while maintaining the possibility to work on reading and ensemble precision.
The orchestration was designed to create a strong stage dialogue between a "classical" orchestra (strings, winds, and piano) positioned opposite a typically rock power trio (electric guitar, bass, drums). To adapt to real-world conditions (stage size, acoustics, technical resources), the pieces can be accompanied by a reduced ensemble, and the drums can be replaced by percussion (such as cajón) to better control sound levels. True to the tradition of contemporary music, this repertoire can be performed as written or, conversely, reinterpreted, revisited, arranged, and adapted by the students, encouraging cross-disciplinary projects and collective creativity.
