Summary of This Method
This manual supports students in the 5th year of Music Theory by offering closely linked work between theoretical understanding and repertoire practice. The different sections, previously divided between a theory workbook and a repertoire workbook, are here combined in the same chapter to encourage immediate connections between concepts and application.
At this stage, the student has greater autonomy: the book can therefore emphasize the chosen musical text while maintaining regular practice on exercises necessary for skill acquisition. This organization is ideal for strengthening sight-reading, rhythmic accuracy, and understanding of musical language, while developing a more conscious musicality (phrasing, dynamics, articulation, structural landmarks).
The proposed repertoire is intentionally varied. It combines works by composers, folk-origin texts collected and then adapted for voice and piano by Pascale Thuillier, as well as original music composed by Pierre Chépélov and Benoît Menut. To facilitate pedagogical continuity, two versions of the manual, A and B, are available: they follow equivalent progressions and can be alternated from year to year, at the teacher's discretion.
