This book offers a reading path designed for students entering the 1st year of the 2nd cycle, with a simple idea: to allow everyone to progress effectively, whether starting with the C clef 4th (often associated with tenor clef reading) or the C clef 3rd (commonly linked to alto clef reading). The goal is to make multi-clef reading more natural by establishing solid reflexes and real ease on the staff.

The progression is based on texts from the repertoire, in order to immediately connect reading to living musical material: phrasing, melodic contours, rhythmic sense, and line continuity. The work is therefore not limited to abstract exercises; it aims to develop reliable reading, useful in instrumental practice as well as in musical training, especially for instruments that change clefs depending on the register.

The content is organized into three complementary stages. Vol. 1A offers a start with G and F clefs mixed, then isolated C3 clef, before addressing combinations of G, F, and C3 clefs mixed. Vol. 1B introduces isolated C4 clef, then works on G, F, and C4 clefs mixed, moving towards more complete readings with G, F, C3, and C4 clefs mixed. Finally, Vol. 2 integrates isolated C1 clef, then progressively expands towards mixes of G, F, and C4 clefs, culminating in extended reading with G, F, C3, C4, and C1 clefs mixed. An ideal method to secure clef changes and gain reading autonomy.
