Summary of This Book
Designed to support the 1st year of the 1st cycle, this book offers a progressive and motivating introduction to musical training. The student progresses through songs and works carefully selected for their beauty and playful dimension, aiming to foster both knowledge and the joy of discovering music. The progression is based on 9 chapters of 6 pages each, structured to establish solid reference points while maintaining an accessible work pace.
Each chapter features a work by a great composer, accompanied by a brief presentation sheet and insights into inventions of their era, enriched with anecdotes to place the music in its context. The content also alternates with "spotlights" on instruments, songs from around the world, and progressive reading ("Cap ou Pas Cap") linked to clef reading, worked on in parallel and consistently with reading skills taught at school (global and syllabic approaches). Rhythm is approached through imitation using the "parrot" principle, to facilitate acquisition and reuse of rhythmic cells in the works. The book also includes vocal work (singing), listening activities, an introduction to harmony (tonic and dominant), as well as a "rainbow of knowledge" that allows quick visualization of the chapter's achievements. A "Petit +" page at the end of each chapter helps consolidate learning, with writing exercises, guided illustrations for the student, various games, and the option to use instruments in class if the teacher wishes. Additionally, the student's book includes a 7 families game on instrument families, a bingo game featuring 22 instruments, note cards and rhythm cards, as well as audio materials (CD, mp3) and video links to listen, sing, and progress independently.
