Summary of This Method

These vocalises are intended for singers wishing to sharpen their technique within a decidedly contemporary aesthetic, while relying on essential fundamentals: interval range, tessitura endurance, rhythmic precision, and dynamic control. The writing emphasizes virtuosity and mobility of the vocal apparatus, with advanced work on chromaticism, fast vocalized tempos, controlled tenuti, and decrescendi down to a sustained "on a thread" sound.

The rhythmic dimension holds a central place: the goal is to accustom the soprano to overlay text and a constant internal pulse, even when the melodic line becomes demanding. The text is not a mere support: it guides articulation, intention, color, and encourages a refined awareness of lip placement, palate, and acoustics. Ad libitum passages stimulate the imagination and open an interpretive space at the border between melody, recitative, and vocal theater.

The method also explores a wide palette of vocal effects and gestures (with their notations) to enrich the singer's vocabulary: sprechgesang, quarter tones, glissandi, slanci, aggregates, arpeggios, noise sounds, and mouth games. The collection draws inspiration from the atmospheres and "roles" of the soprano voice, focusing on six categories (dramatico-coloratura, dramatico, lirico-spinto, lirico-leggero, coloratura, soubrette), through 10 pieces: I. La Reine noire, II. Disperata donna, III. La Diva, IV. Ah Madre del Cielo, V. Leonora, VI. La Mort des amants, VII. Anna Bolena, VIII. Je suis belle, IX. Mes grisgris, X. La Pastorella.

Designed for experienced singers confident in their technical foundation, this approach also invites connecting the beauty of timbre, disciplined practice, and the joy of stage play. An excellent resource to enrich vocal technique, refine presence, and approach the demands of contemporary repertoire while maintaining a grounding in the opera imagination.
