USAGE GUIDELINES - L'OREILLE TENDRE is an introductory music workbook designed for very young children, with one simple yet essential goal: discovering the world of sound through play. Children are encouraged to experience each exercise through their senses and through their bodies, embedding musical concepts in a “body memory”: listening, moving, breathing, singing, clapping... and feeling the music before naming it.
Throughout the program, Octave, the little musician rabbit, accompanies the child as a reassuring and motivating guide. At the very beginning, a familiarization activity is provided: sticking Octave stickers onto their case to get acquainted with this companion. The 20 illustrated lessons alternate between songs and musical games to gradually introduce the octave, ascending and descending pitch, breath, voice, rhythm (body movements and clapping), and the recognition of timbres.
Designed to encourage active participation, the exercises use practical materials: stickers and a CD reinforce the child’s engagement and make it easier to organize the sessions. The detachable Activity Guide, intended for parents, educators, teachers, or instructors, explains each activity lesson by lesson, including objectives, instructions, and icons indicating the required materials. In the child’s book, symbols also make it easy to quickly identify the different types of activities.
The compact disc contains recordings of all the songs, pieces dedicated to body movements, and timbre-related guessing games. For ease of use, the track corresponding to each activity is indicated in the Guide. Finally, the progression remains flexible: each user can adapt the pace of the lessons according to the child’s age, the group, and above all each child’s individual tempo, ensuring a joyful and natural introduction to music.
