Summary of This Method
USAGE ADVICE - L'OREILLE TENDRE is a musical awakening manual designed for very young children, with a simple and essential goal: to discover the sound world while having fun. The child is invited to experience each exercise sensorially, through the body, in order to anchor musical concepts in a "body memory": listening, moving, breathing, singing, clapping... and feeling the music before naming it.
Throughout the program, Octave, the little musician rabbit, accompanies the child as a reassuring and motivating guide. From the start, a familiarization activity is offered: sticking Octave's stickers on their case to get to know this companion. The 20 illustrated lessons alternate songs and musical games to gradually introduce the octave, ascending and descending sounds, breath, voice, rhythm (body movements and clapping), and recognition of timbres.
Designed for active participation, the exercises rely on concrete supports: stickers and CD enhance the child's engagement and facilitate session setup. The detachable Activity Guide, intended for parents, educators, teachers, or instructors, details each activity lesson by lesson: objectives, procedure, and icons indicating required materials. In the child's book, symbols also help quickly identify the types of activities.
The compact disc includes recordings of all the songs, pieces dedicated to body movements, as well as riddles about timbres. For smooth use, the track corresponding to each activity is indicated in the Guide. Finally, the progression remains flexible: each user can adapt the lesson pace according to age, group, and especially the tempo unique to each child, to maintain a joyful and natural discovery of music.
