A "Two Mics in One" Approach in the LCT Range

The Lewitt LCT 140 AIR stands out with a simple philosophy: to offer, within the same small-diaphragm microphone, two complementary sound profiles without relying on post-production equalization. The AIR mode provides a more open and sparkling character, while the FLAT mode favors a linear and realistic reproduction. This dual identity makes it a very versatile choice in any microphone collection, whether you seek a sound that's already "mix-ready" or a faithful capture to work on later.

Intended Uses and Musicians

Designed for recordings that demand precision, the LCT 140 AIR excels on acoustic guitar, strings, choirs, and percussions, as well as on drum overheads when you want to capture cymbal definition without losing the warmth of the kit. In home studios, its AIR mode can quickly add presence to a somewhat dark instrument, while the FLAT mode is perfect for natural recordings, dense arrangements, and multi-mic setups where tonal balance must remain neutral.

Key Features: Adapt the Capture to the Mix, Not the Other Way Around

AIR or FLAT Mode: Choose the Tone at the Source

The switchable preset EQ selector lets you toggle between an open and bright sound (AIR) and a straighter response (FLAT). This is especially useful for deciding at the recording stage whether to emphasize string brightness and harmonics or to preserve the sound "as is" for maximum realism.

Pad and Filter: More Control in Real-World Conditions

The switchable pre-attenuation helps manage loud sources (snare drum, close percussion, brass, distant amps), while the 80 Hz low-cut filter cleans up vibrations, handling noise, or proximity effect, all while maintaining controlled bass in the mix.
