A Concentrate of POD DNA, Designed for Mobile Playing
The Pocket POD captures the spirit of the famous POD family sounds in a miniature unit: iconic amp models, instantly musical cab/effect combinations, and a "plug and play" approach ideal for practicing without setup. Its A.I.R. II technology (Acoustic Impulse Response simulation) aims for a more credible sound in live, headphone, or recording situations, with a feel closer to a miked amp.
Who Is It For, What Styles, and In Which Situations?
The Pocket POD is aimed both at beginner guitarists who want an inspiring bank of sounds without getting lost in menus, and at experienced musicians seeking a highly practical backup tool (warm-up in dressing rooms, hotels, backstage, home writing). The 32 amps cover blues, rock, pop, punk, hard rock, and metal, while the effects (chorus, flanger, tremolo, delay, reverb, compressor) also do a great job for more atmospheric textures.
In practice, it excels in three scenarios: with headphones for practice, with an auxiliary input for playing along with tracks, and in front of an amp as a compact multi-effects. It can also suit other instrument sources (bass, certain keyboards, vocals via adapted chain), thanks to dedicated presets.
