A Collaboration Designed for the Stage: The GV DNA with Andrew Gouché
Positioned as a reliable mid-range option, the GV5 GOG is part of the Markbass series developed with Andrew Gouché. The goal is clear: to offer a modern, reliable, and ready-to-play "Jazz Bass" style instrument with a strong sonic identity and performance-oriented craftsmanship.
For Whom and Which Styles?
Thanks to its slim neck and intuitive passive electronics, this bass is aimed both at intermediate bassists seeking a versatile instrument and advanced musicians looking for a comfortable 5-string. Its "JJ" character is particularly suited to funk, soul, groove, pop, rock, and variety contexts where precision, dynamics, and low-end definition are essential.
The Sound
The alder body provides a natural balance between rounded lows, present mids, and smooth highs, ideal for maintaining body in the mix without harshness. The maple neck enhances attack and clarity, while the maple fretboard adds brightness useful for highlighting ghost notes, slaps, and fast articulations. The two MB Noiseless JJ Style pickups offer the typical versatility of a "JJ" setup: neck pickup for a full, warm sound; bridge pickup for more bite and precision; and both together for a dense, defined balance. With its 2 independent volume controls and passive tone, the GV5 GOG allows you to shape the tone in one gesture, from vintage warmth to modern snap.
