A JB-Style Bass Inspired by a Timeless Classic

The MB JB captures the essential features of JB-style basses, a silhouette that has become a staple in the world of electric bass. Its poplar body, glossy white finishing and chrome hardware give it a look that is understated, modern and instantly recognizable.

This 4-string bass takes a straightforward approach: comfortable construction, a slim neck that is easy to navigate and intuitive passive electronics. It is therefore a reliable instrument for regular practice, rehearsing with a band or discovering the many playing nuances specific to the electric bass.

A Versatile Bass for Beginners, Progressing Players and Grooves

The MB JB is particularly suited to beginner and intermediate bassists looking for a bass that is easy to understand, comfortable to play and expressive enough to support their progress. Its 34" / 864 mm scale length corresponds to the standard for long-scale electric basses: it promotes good note definition and well-defined low end.

Its slim neck makes left-hand movement easier, whether you are learning your first grooves, building consistent bass lines or developing greater fluidity across the neck. The 20 frets offer a range suited to most modern accompaniment, from root notes played in the low register to more melodic lines in the upper register.

At home in Funk, Soul, Pop and Rock, this JB-Style bass also suits musicians who alternate between fingerstyle, pick playing and slap. Its versatile character makes it easy to find a place in a band mix, while remaining enjoyable for practicing alone at home.

Two Single-Coil Pickups for Everything from Warm to Punchy

The MB JB is equipped with two single-coil pickups in an SS configuration, paired with passive electronics. This design emphasizes the natural dynamics of your playing: the attack, note intensity and position of the right hand directly influence the sound.

The neck pickup provides a full foundation, with rounded lows and warm depth suited to Soul, Pop or Rock accompaniment. The bridge pickup delivers greater precision, midrange and attack ; it is particularly useful when the bass needs to stand out in a dense arrangement or when you want a more energetic playing style.

The two volume controls let you freely adjust the blend between the pickups. Using both pickups together produces a balanced, defined and versatile sound. The tone control can then be used to soften the highs for a more mellow register, or left fully open to preserve the bite and snap sought in slap playing.

The poplar body contributes to the instrument's overall balance. Combined with the laurel key and steel strings, it supports a clear and responsive response, with sustain suited to articulated bass lines as well as sustained notes. The fixed bridge enhances tuning stability and ensures direct transfer of the strings' vibrations to the body.
