A "JB" style bass: a classic revisited for everyday use
With its format inspired by the great "JB Style" references, the MB YELLOW JB relies on a timeless recipe: an ergonomic body, a fast neck, and two single-coil pickups. The result: an easy-to-handle bass designed to cover a wide repertoire and fit naturally both in a band and at home.
For whom, and for which styles?
The MB YELLOW JB is aimed at beginner to intermediate bassists who want a simple, effective, and versatile bass. Its long 34-inch scale provides a familiar feel and good note sustain, while the passive electronics allow you to quickly find a musical tone. It suits styles requiring groove and definition: Funk, Soul, Pop, Rock, as well as any context alternating fingerstyle and slap playing.
The sound
The two single-coil pickups configuration offers a clear and dynamic palette. The neck pickup favors round lows and a warm foundation, while the bridge pickup adds more precision, mids, and attack. Thanks to the 2 volume + 1 tone controls, you can easily blend the two pickups to switch from a soft, mellow sound to a sharper register, perfect for slap and lines that need to "cut through" the mix. The passive electronics maintain a natural and responsive touch.
