Historical Context and Positioning in the Range
The MEINL "Cajon Side Mounts" fit into the brand's approach aimed at transforming the cajon into a more modular percussion set. The idea is simple: bring additional accessories (according to your configuration) closer to the playing area to maintain a natural gesture while expanding the cajon's sound palette in an acoustic or amplified context.
Who This Drum/Support for Cajon Is For
This support is intended for percussionists from beginners to advanced who want to evolve their cajon without moving to a bulkier set. It is perfectly suited to styles where dynamics and details matter: acoustic pop, flamenco, latin, world, light funk, as well as live performances where ergonomics must remain impeccable. It is also a relevant choice for street musicians and music facilitators who need quick setup.
Features and Innovations
The concept is based on a loop and hook closure allowing easy installation on practically any compatible surface, without heavy tools. By keeping additional accessories as close as possible to the playing surface, these supports promote better placement and immediate accessibility: you can chain effects and percussive textures faster while maintaining fluid and musical playing.
Sound
Although this product is not a sound generator by itself, its impact on the musical result is real: by bringing your accessories (depending on those you use) closer to the striking area, you gain in rhythmic precision and control of nuances. Transitions become more natural, which helps integrate additional colors into your cajon playing without breaking the groove.
The choice of Siam oak (Hevea brasiliensis) provides a rigid and stable base, useful for maintaining coherent support of accessories during playing. This contributes to a more confident playing feel, especially during dynamic passages or rapid sequences.
