Meinl HCS Dark Ride 20"

Historical context and position within the range

This 20-inch ride belongs to the Meinl HCS Dark series. Made in Germany, it combines an MS63 alloy with Dark finishing. Its identity is built around a defined response and a relatively dark tonal color: an interesting combination for creating a clear rhythmic foundation without letting the resonance take over.

Within this series, this model serves as a ride cymbal. Its 20-inch diameter, medium weight and distinct bell allow you to alternate between steady accompaniment and accents, while maintaining tonal consistency throughout a song.

Who this ride cymbal is for

The Meinl HCS Dark 20-inch is suitable for beginner or intermediate drummers who want to work on the consistency of their ride playing. The separation between the ping, bell and wash helps you hear placement nuances and better control your accents.

The stated styles are rock and pop. It will fit naturally into accompaniment parts where the pulse needs to remain clear, with a controlled presence. A more experienced drummer may also choose it for this precise combination: a clear attack, a low-mid register and short sustain, rather than a long, overwhelming wash of sound.
