What Meldway Grand Is For
Meldway Grand is designed to provide a concert grand piano ready to mix into any production: classical music, pop, rock, ambient, soundtracks, or video games. Its versatile microphone architecture covers the needs of an intimate "close" piano as well as a wide concert hall piano. The creative tools transform the instrument into a true sound design laboratory without losing the acoustic signature of a grand piano.
Main Features
Seven microphone pairs, from "player" to "wide"
Access a perfectly centered "classic" stereo pair, an immersive "head" pair, two ultra-close pairs for a sharp pop sound, a "ball" pair inside the piano, Brauner-type microphones with a very wide stereo image, and an experimental "ground" pair. Each source has dedicated controls for immediate multi-mic mixing.
Natural play, nuances, and resonances
The engine reproduces sympathetic resonances (even without pedal) and half-pedal for credible transitions and releases, rich lows, and silky highs. Ideal for emotional passages as well as percussive parts.
Creative Tab and Workflow
Transform the timbre with resonators, filters, and FM. Rearrange the effect order, use the randomizer to generate ideas, and save your mic/FX combinations as starting points for tracks.
Custom FX Section
A set of 25 algorithmic reverbs optimized for piano, plus delay, enhancer, compressor, bellizer, distortion, and rotary. From intimate solos to cinematic large spaces, everything is integrated.
