Summary of This Sheet Music
Salon music takes its name from the venues where it was performed: the noble and bourgeois salons of the 19th century, where the taste for brilliant, expressive, and immediately appealing pieces was cultivated. At the same time, the flute was transformed thanks to the Boehm system, opening new sonic and technical possibilities and inspiring the composition of virtuosic works as well as lyrical miniatures.
La Flûte au Salon brings together seven charming pieces, ideal for enriching a recital program, practicing the Romantic style, or simply enjoying works with a strong character. The writing emphasizes phrasing, articulation, breath flexibility, and musicality, while the piano provides genuine harmonic and rhythmic support.
The included compact disc offers, for each work, a full version (flute and piano) as well as a version with only the piano accompaniment remaining, a valuable tool for studying tempo, ensemble, and interpretation.
Contents: Valse gracieuse Op. 261,2 (Popp); Scherzino Op. 55,6 (Andersen); Romance Op. 41 (Brun); Barcarolle and Tarantella Op. 70,2 (Molique); Mazurka de Salon Op. 16 (Doppler); Souvenir des Alpes Op. 27,1 (Böhm); Csårdås (Monti).
