A Recorder Inspired by Kynseker, in the Mollenhauer Spirit

The Kynseker series is inspired by instruments attributed to Hieronymus F. Kynseker (Nuremberg, 17th century), based on originals preserved at the Germanisches Nationalmuseum in Nuremberg. The goal is clear: to recreate an external form close to period models and, above all, a powerful sound, dense and full of personality, designed for ensemble playing. Mollenhauer delivers here a distinctive tenor, firmly positioned in the "early music" realm, while maintaining modern adjustment standards for stability and comfort.

For Which Musician and Styles?

This tenor recorder is aimed at intermediate to advanced musicians seeking a pronounced historical color, whether for Renaissance music, Early Baroque, or consort playing. It is also suitable for curious recorder players wishing to expand their palette, while keeping familiar playing references thanks to a Baroque-style fingering, convenient for switching between instruments without complete relearning.

Sound and Design

With its plum wood body, the Kynseker offers a generally warm timbre, with a nice presence in the midrange and appreciable projection to hold its place within an ensemble. The tuning emphasizes intonation and sonic homogeneity, aiming for stable sound production and an expressive instrument. Its keyless design favors simplicity and fidelity to the model, with a natural grip for those who appreciate the "wood" feel and direct response of a traditional tenor.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

Delivered with a leather case and essential accessories, this recorder is designed for immediate use and maintenance: a microfiber swab for drying after playing, joint grease to preserve assembly, as well as a fingering chart and a maintenance manual to adopt proper daily care routines.
