A Next-Generation DSP Monitor, Built for Versatility
The Lemur5 stands out with a modern approach to monitoring: the integration of a digital signal processor (DSP) combined with a modeling technique. The idea is simple and highly effective in the studio: maintain a very controlled response, then offer several selectable listening "profiles" to emulate reference monitor behaviors and vary perspectives on a mix. Within its range, this positioning makes it a particularly relevant active monitor for those seeking a flexible working tool without multiplying speaker pairs.
Who and In What Contexts to Use the Lemur5?
With its 5.25" format, the Lemur5 is ideal for nearfield monitoring : home studios, production studios, video editing stations, light post-production, streaming, or multimedia creation. It is well suited for producers, beatmakers, sound engineers, and musicians who want a stable stereo image and detailed transient playback (vocals, percussion, synth attacks, guitars). Its "Six in One" approach is also an asset for quickly validating mix translation across multiple listening signatures while keeping a single monitoring system.

Questions frequently asked
Is the Monkey Banana Lemur 5 Black suitable for a home studio?
Its nearfield design combines a 5.25-inch Kevlar woofer with a 1-inch aluminum tweeter. With dimensions of 190 x 277 x 214.5 mm, this monitor fits production spaces, video editing, and multimedia creation.
What DSP profiles does this monitor speaker offer?
Six selectable DSP programs modify the listening behavior for analysis, production, or midrange control. A dedicated Bell filter for the midrange complements these profiles.
What inputs are available on the Lemur5?
XLR, 6.3 mm jack, and RCA inputs allow connection of studio or consumer sources. The specified sensitivities are +4 dBu and -10 dBV.
Can the sound be adjusted according to the room?
A three-position Low Cut helps adapt the response when placed near a wall or on a desk. The High Shelving adjusts the highs, while the Bell filter acts on the midrange.
What power and frequency response does this monitor have?
Class D two-channel amplification delivers 80 W, including 30 W for the HF section. The frequency response ranges from 55 Hz to 30 kHz, with a crossover frequency set at 2.8 kHz. An activatable limiter allows managing peak levels.
