A modern clean boost designed for the pedalboard
The Mooer Pure Boost fits within the spirit of the "clean" boosters that have marked guitar rig history: a seemingly simple pedal, but essential whenever you want to cut through the mix, push a tube amp, or add definition to an effects chain. Here, the goal is not to transform your sound into distortion, but to enhance what you already have : more attack, more density, more foundation.
Within the Mooer Micro range, the Pure Boost acts as a "Swiss army knife": it can serve as a volume boost, a slight thickener at the amp input, or a mini backup preamp thanks to its built-in equalization. Its compact size makes it particularly attractive for crowded pedalboards or minimalist setups.
Who the Pure Boost makes a difference for, and in which styles
The Pure Boost is aimed equally at beginner guitarists looking for a first "always useful" pedal, and at experienced musicians who want a reliable tool to manage levels and presence live. It is especially effective in rock, blues, pop, funk, indie, and also metal for tightening the attack before distortion (by adjusting gain and equalization).
In concert, it quickly becomes a reflex: a spot boost for a solo, compensating for a guitar that disappears in the mix, or quick adjustment depending on the venue. In the studio, it helps to "place" the guitar: a bit more level, better controlled lows, clearer highs, without having to tweak the amp or other pedals' settings.
Recommended placement: at the start of the chain to push overdrives and fuzz, or at the end of the chain for a cleaner volume boost (depending on your amp and how you manage saturation). On an amp with an effects loop, it can also be used in the loop for a more pronounced volume boost without adding too much gain at the input.

Questions frequently asked
Can the Mooer Pure Boost drive a tube amp without adding distortion?
Its analog circuit delivers a clean boost, with a Gain control allowing adjustment from a clean level increase to a more pronounced signal drive. The output level is set separately via the Volume knob.
Where should a boost pedal be placed in a guitar pedal chain?
At the beginning of the chain, the pedal can push an overdrive or fuzz. At the end of the chain or in the amp's effects loop, it provides a more straightforward volume boost.
What equalization controls are available?
The 2-band Bass and Treble EQ allows adjustment of low and high frequencies, for example to thicken the sound or reduce excessive brightness.
What power supply is required for this Mooer pedal?
A 9 V DC power supply with center negative is required, with a consumption of 6 mA. The pedal operates on mains power and therefore does not require a battery.
Does the Pure Boost take up much space on a pedalboard?
Measuring 93.5 mm deep, 42 mm wide, and 52 mm high, its micro format occupies little space. It weighs 160 g. The True Bypass allows signal to pass even when the pedal is unpowered.
