The idea is to quickly achieve usable sounds, from clean boost that wakes up a clean channel to more powerful saturations, while retaining spatial effects (delay, reverb) and modulation effects that make a difference in live or studio contexts.

Its strong point is also its chaining logic: thanks to the integrated effects loop, it naturally fits into a traditional amp setup, including the famous "4-cable method," highly appreciated for maintaining clear saturations and placing delays/reverbs at the right spot in the chain.
