A MOTU Interface Designed for Dense ADAT Configurations

The MOTU LP32 follows the logic of interfaces focused on digital connectivity: instead of stacking analog inputs, it becomes the central hub of a system based on ADAT and its extensions. This approach is particularly relevant when your audio chain is already built around multichannel preamps, external converters, or digital racks, and you are looking for a stable, compact, and coherent interface to aggregate everything.

In a range that also includes more "all-in-one" models with mic preamps, the LP32 stands out by its purpose: maximizing the number of optical channels and providing reliable DSP monitoring, without cluttering your setup with redundant functions.

For Whom and for Which Uses in Studio or Live

This sound card is aimed at producers, sound engineers, and studios who want to expand an existing system via ADAT, or build a control room centered on digital devices. It is also well suited for live and broadcast configurations where clear routing, reduced footprint (half rack), and quick setup are sought.

Thanks to its "audio standard" compatibility and USB operation, the LP32 can integrate into a modern environment (computer-based audio workstation, compact rig) while remaining flexible enough to follow the evolution of your collection of digital converters and preamps.

DSP, S-MUX and Digital Routing: Efficiency Without Detours

Hardware DSP Monitoring for Responsive Listening

The LP32 includes DSP Hardware Monitoring: you can build a return mix directly within the interface, convenient for recording comfortably and maintaining a natural playing feel. During recording, this allows managing artist monitoring, headphone returns via your external system, or dedicated sub-mixes, all while keeping a clean signal organization.

ADAT and S-MUX: Utilizing Your Channels According to Sample Rate

The 4 S-MUX ports allow adapting the use of optical connections when increasing the sample rate. Practically, this is an advantage for those who alternate between "high track count" sessions and "high definition" sessions without changing hardware: the LP32 remains the hub, and your ADAT devices stay at the core of the system.

Switchable TOS/LINK S/PDIF Ports: More Flexibility in Optical

The switchable optical ports offer appreciated flexibility to integrate equipment in S/PDIF optical format when your configuration requires it. This is a clean solution to manage short digital connections, limit unnecessary conversions, and maintain a coherent audio chain, especially if you work with multiple digital sources.
