This version is an update (UPG): it requires owning Absynth 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 (previous license) in order to activate Absynth 6 as an upgrade. An Internet connection is required for installation and activation (offline use is possible afterward).

What Absynth 6 Is For

Absynth 6 is a virtual instrument designed for sound design and creating soundscapes: airy pads, cinematic ambiances, organic textures, tonal effects, drones, expressive leads, and constantly evolving timbres. Its hybrid approach and modulation engine make it a natural choice for electronic music, ambient, experimental techno, as well as scoring for film, video games, and any production seeking a "living" and evolving sound.

Main Features

Semi-modular hybrid three-voice engine

The core of Absynth 6 is based on a semi-modular three-voice architecture (three oscillators) designed to stack, crossfade, and evolve sound layers. By combining subtractive, FM, granular, and wavetable synthesis, you can move from a precise harmonic foundation to granular and supernatural textures, while maintaining musical control over dynamics and movement. This design is particularly effective for building complex sounds without losing sight of musical intent.

Mutator and visual browser for instant idea generation

When inspiration needs to strike fast, the Mutator becomes a true creative partner. It allows you to morph a preset by adjusting depth, trigger variations via a random generator, and undo changes through the history of transformations. Add to this a visual browser and a library of over 2,000 presets (including more than 350 new ones), and you get an ideal playground to explore sonic colors, from pure synthesis to cinematic atmospheres ready to be integrated into a mix.

Multi-level envelopes and advanced modulation

Absynth is renowned for its internal movements, and Absynth 6 goes straight to the point with its multi-level envelopes: up to 68 points with looping, curves, and sustain phases. The Sample Jump mode opens the door to more unpredictable evolutions by randomizing playback, while the LFOs and assignments (macros, velocity, modulation wheel) allow sculpting complex sonic trajectories. The result: pads that breathe, textures that transform, and sounds that retain an organic dimension even on repetitive patterns.

Creative effects and surround spatialization

To finalize a sound without always relying on external effects, Absynth 6 includes iconic creative effects, including Aetherizer and Cloud Filter. The multichannel surround spatialization adds extra depth, especially appreciated in sound design, immersive production, or to enhance the sense of space in pads and atmospheres. Each effect can benefit from this approach, facilitating the creation of wide, enveloping sounds ready for modern contexts.

Expression, micro-tuning, and studio integration

Support for MPE and polyphonic aftertouch makes playing more expressive: timbre, filter, vibrato, morphing, or spatialization can finely respond to pressure and gestures, with a feel close to a "responsive" acoustic instrument. Absynth 6 also supports MTS-ESP for micro-tuning and real-time alternative tunings, useful for exploring modern harmonic systems, historical temperaments, or experimental sonic universes. Finally, integration with Kontrol and Maschine keyboards facilitates navigation and control during production.
