What Invigorate Is For

Invigorate is a dynamic enhancer plugin designed to push forward a source in the mix: drums, percussion bus, bass, synths, aggressive vocals, guitars, or even a full mix. Its main purpose is to transform a "tame" track into a signal that is bigger, denser, and more exciting, without forcing you to stack compressors, limiters, and saturation. In practice, you use it to add punch, emphasize attack, control peaks, create movement (pump), or bring musical distortion that thickens the mids and solidifies the low end.

Main Features

A "deconstructed" compressor to sculpt character

Invigorate's approach starts from a simple observation: compression, limiting, and overdrive are three ways to manage (and push) dynamics. Here, you naturally morph between these behaviors to choose the musical intent: soft control, hard impact, or energetic saturation. The result: a plugin especially effective on buses, when you want to both glue elements together and give them a sense of power.

Radar: gain, control, and smooth transition

The Radar control is at the heart of the workflow: it helps you set the amount of gain and navigate between compression, limiting, and distortion. It's a real asset when you're looking for "the exact spot" where the drums become livelier, where the snare snaps, or where a bus starts to rumble just right. This logic reduces back-and-forth and encourages quick decisions, ideal for modern mixing.

MIX, sidechain, and tone: punch, but your way

The MIX enables immediate parallel processing: you push character in the wet signal while preserving the definition and transients of the dry. The SENSITIVITY controls act as tone settings on the sidechain signal, influencing how the detector reacts to different frequencies (very useful to prevent a kick from triggering too much reduction, or conversely to put it at the center of the movement). The INPUT EXCITER allows you to overdrive the dynamic processor, while the OUTPUT TONE refines the color of the processed signal before the final blend.

Gain curve and behavior: SHAPE, SQUASH, GATE

Invigorate offers SHAPE, SQUASH, and GATE to shape the gain curve and response feel. You can go from a tight and muscular control to more pronounced compression, or even a dirtier, more aggressive texture, all while keeping a clear view of what you're doing. The aggressive level detector is designed so compression can pump and breathe when you want, particularly effective on grooves and loops.

Gain compensation, oversampling, and anti-aliasing

To avoid the "louder means better" trap, Invigorate integrates an innovative gain compensation algorithm that facilitates honest comparison during adjustment. The processing also benefits from oversampling and anti-aliasing to maintain clean highs and more natural saturation, even when pushing distortion and limiting.

Artist Presets: ready-to-mix starting points

Artist presets are included, created by: Count (Run the Jewels, New Order, No Doubt, Tycho, DJ Shadow, Gang of Youths, Lady Blackbird), Justin Hergett (FINNEAS, Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Ashe), John O'Mahony (Marina, Coldplay, Sara Bareilles), Maor Appelbaum (Faith No More, Yes, Meatloaf, Rob Halford, Sepultura), Jacob Shea (Planet Earth, Blue Planet, Inception), ROCASound (The Orville, Iron Man 2), Matthew Wang (Tiger King, Glow, Reno 911!), Scott Gershin (Pacific Rim, American Beauty, Team America), David Gnozzi (MixbusTv, MC Solaar), APS Mastering (Vampire Weekend, The Shivers, Deer Tick), Ronit Kirchman (The Sinner, Evil Eye, Limetown).
