A "build-it-yourself" cajon: the workshop spirit of a percussion classic

Now essential in contemporary music, the cajon has established itself for its compactness, expressiveness, and immediate musicality. With this NINO kit, the instrument takes on an even more creative dimension: you don't just play it, you understand the construction, assembly, and the impact of materials on resonance. It's a simple and concrete approach, perfectly suited for classrooms, music schools, and discovery workshops.

Who is this NINO cajon kit for?

This kit is designed for teachers, facilitators, parents, and all musicians who want to offer a "making + music" activity within the same project. It is very suitable for beginners: once assembled, the cajon offers immediate playability (bass in the center, sharp sounds near the edge). For use with children, assembly can be done independently depending on age, or with adult supervision.

Assembly, customization, and internal snare: what makes the difference

A simple, concrete, and rewarding project

The kit comes with all the necessary components for assembly, along with an assembly manual in nine languages. The goal: progress step by step, assemble the box, fix the striking surface, then install the functional elements. In the end, you get a finished instrument, which you can then visually customize according to your project (colors, varnish, decorations).

Birch and Baltic birch: a solid base for good resonance

The striking surface (front face) is made of birch wood, and the resonating box is made of Baltic birch wood. This wood choice aims for a well-balanced cajon sound: a clear response, good projection, and a tone suitable for both deep hits and sharper attacks near the edges.

Internal snare: more character in playing

This cajon includes an internal snare, which adds a more "snare-like" (crisp) grain and better definition of ghost notes and articulated rhythms. It's a real plus for exploring different playing styles, from simple accompaniment to more detailed patterns.
