A Radius conceived as a "new classic" at NS Design
Made in the Czech Republic, the Radius Bass exemplifies NS Design's approach: reinventing the electric bass with innovative solutions without sacrificing musicality. Every detail has been rethought by Ned Steinberger to create an instrument that is modern, reliable, and immediately familiar in hand, with a refined finish and a true sense of "useful design."
For which bassists and styles?
This 4-string bass is aimed at intermediate to advanced bassists seeking a comfortable, precise instrument capable of covering many contexts: studio, stage, pop, rock, funk, fusion, contemporary music, and more nuanced playing thanks to the piezo. The long scale provides sustain and clarity, ideal for chords, fast lines, and well-defined lows.
Sound
The combination of a maple body and flamed maple top promotes a quick response, sharp attack, and excellent clarity, particularly useful for articulated lines and precise playing. On the electronics side, the magnetic pickups (a collaboration between EMG and NS Design) deliver a solid, present sound that is easy to place in a mix, while the Polar piezo sensor adds a more acoustic dimension, rich in dynamics and detail. The piezo/magnetic balance allows switching from a modern, punchy tone to a more "woody" texture, and the active bass/treble EQ quickly refines the tone according to style.
Recommended compatible accessories
This Radius Bass comes with a high-density deluxe gig bag, ideal for daily transport and protection.
