What NUGEN Halo Upmix Is For
Halo Upmix is designed to convert stereo tracks into high-end multichannel mixes intended for television, cinema, sound design, and immersive experiences. It facilitates archive restoration, TV-to-cinema repurposing, ambiance spatialization, and integration of stereo music or effects into 5.1/7.1 deliverables, while guaranteeing a safe and faithful stereo foldback.
Main Features
Natural and Coherent Upmix
Dedicated algorithms analyze stereo source localization cues to expand the panorama without altering its character. The result is a wide and deep soundstage, free of artifacts, ready for broadcast and cinema post-production.
Center, Dialogues, and Low-Frequency Energy
Center management includes the choice between hard center and phantom center, as well as neural network-driven dialogue extraction. Low-frequency energy control optimizes the LFE channel without bloating or muddying the mix.
Real-Time Visualization and Control
The spatial analysis view displays the energy distribution of the upmixed panorama and indicates each speaker's contribution by color, making hard center vs. phantom center predominance obvious and speeding up mixing decisions.
Guaranteed Downmix Compatibility
The "Exact" mode maintains the integrity of the original/upmix/downmix relationship, with in-place monitoring, ideal for TV repurposing and workflows where stereo compliance is critical.
Immersive 3D Extension (Optional)
This extension adds vertical controls, Ltm/Rtm placement for Dolby Atmos compatibility, dedicated vertical analysis, and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd order Ambisonics outputs (AmbiX format) for VR and gaming. Compatible with AAX for Avid Pro Tools and VST3 for Steinberg Nuendo on macOS and Windows.
