What NUGEN Stereoplacer Is For

Stereoplacer is an "intelligent" stereo placement plug-in designed to move only problematic frequency areas within the panorama. It allows you to recentre wandering basses, shift the attack of a bass without moving its body, align poorly miked takes, or restore width to complex sources. In post-production, it helps rebalance mispositioned elements and add stereo detail to originally mono recordings while preserving the source's character.

Main Features

Targeted Frequency Placement

Select a frequency or band, solo it, then place it exactly where you want in the stereo field. The rest of the image remains intact, avoiding the side effects of traditional panning.

Flexible and Musical Control

Work with bell and high/low shelf curves, and add harmonically linked overtones from a root point to respect the timbre's structure. You can even move heavily panned content from one side to the other without disrupting the overall balance.

Creative Low-End Management

Keep bass energy centered while shifting their higher directional components, or conversely, bring scattered lows back to center without affecting the rest of the signal for a clean and solid low end.

Workflow and Restoration

Correct random mic placements, optimize sample loops, refine sounds with dense harmonic content, and apply if needed linear phase adjustments to the entire mix with excellent mono compatibility.

Presets and Visualization

The plug-in is configured like a parametric EQ. It does not include factory presets but allows creating user presets to quickly recall your recurring corrections, with dynamic visual feedback.
