A portable NUX piano designed for both the stage and home
The NUX NPK-20 occupies a particularly interesting position in the brand's range of portable digital pianos. It is aimed at musicians who want to enjoy the playing comfort of a real piano without the bulk of a substantial cabinet, while benefiting from modern features that are useful for rehearsals, lessons, home studio work or live performance. Its approach is clear: to offer the feel of a grand piano in a lightweight, versatile and easy-to-transport instrument.
With its extensive sound engine, automatic accompaniment and generous connectivity, this model is more than just a digital piano for learning. It also caters to keyboardists who need an instrument capable of handling a live set, accompanying vocals, controlling applications or serving as a compact creative hub for composition.
Keyboard design
The NPK-20 features an 88-key weighted NUX WKJ-03 triple-sensor keyboard, designed to replicate the behavior of an acoustic piano. It includes an escapement mechanism, synthetic ivory and ebony key surfaces, and adjustable velocity sensitivity across 5 levels. The playing response has been refined to improve downward force, rebound detection and legato, with a better balance between black and white keys. The result is a more natural, quieter and more expressive feel, suitable for classical practice as well as modern playing in pop, jazz or variety music.
Sound quality
The sound section is based on German grand piano sampling, enhanced by a library of 271 sounds divided into 7 groups. The NPK-20 is therefore not limited to a single piano tone: it offers a wide range of sounds for varying registers, layering textures and building complete arrangements. The maximum polyphony of 108 notes allows for more comfortable playing in sustained passages or when layering sounds. For amplification, the instrument features stereo amplification rated at 2 x 11 W, with built-in speakers, for immediate use at home or in small performances. The result is dynamic, full and detailed enough to bring out the nuances of the touch.
