A modern fuzz designed as a "texture laboratory"

The Pardner does not aim to replicate a vintage fuzz identically: it belongs more to the lineage of contemporary fuzzes focused on texture, capable of shifting from thick saturation to more unstable, almost "synth-like" behaviors. Its real uniqueness lies in integrating a second sonic world: the Lasso section, which combines a low to medium gain overdrive and an effects loop. The result: instead of stacking pedals randomly, you build a coherent chain (or parallel blend) directly inside the Pardner.

Who is it for? Styles, guitars, and usage contexts

The Pardner is aimed at guitarists (and bassists) who enjoy sculpting their saturation: alternative rock, garage, stoner, doom, shoegaze, post-rock, noise, indie, as well as electro/experimental for more "synthy" textures. In the studio, it shines when you want a fuzz that layers well (double-tracking, overdubs, atmospheres) and can reinvent itself depending on the track thanks to the routing. Live, the two footswitches allow activating fuzz and/or the Lasso section on the fly, ideal for switching from a gritty verse to a massive chorus, or triggering a particular color on a lead.

Pedalboard tip: place a chorus, phaser, octave, or even a short delay in the Lasso loop. In parallel with the fuzz, you get a sense of width and depth without drowning the attack.

Controls, effects loop, and routing: everything to customize your saturation

The fuzz section is designed to explore multiple "faces." The Voice selector offers two approaches (more "fuzzy" or more "synthy"), while Filter and Intensity modulate gain amount and frequency content, helping adapt the pedal to different pickups (single coils, humbuckers, P90s) and amps. Additionally, the Treble, Bass, and Fuzz Volume controls facilitate mix integration: tighten the lows to keep precision, open the highs to regain bite, or conversely darken for a thicker fuzz.

The Lasso section adds a variable overdrive (low to medium gain) and especially a controllable Send/Return effects loop, designed to insert your favorite pedals "around" the fuzz. The order selector is key: place Lasso before the fuzz to push the input and thicken sustain, place Lasso after the fuzz for more controlled saturation, or set both in parallel to blend a textured fuzz with a clearer, more articulated chain.

The sound

The Pardner delivers a lively fuzz, with that sensation of saturation that "moves" and reacts to playing. In the more "synthy" mode, the grain can become blurrier, more resonant, with an oscillating side evoking almost electronic textures; in the more "fuzzy" mode, you find more attack and body, perfect for thick riffs and chords that fill the space. The Filter/Intensity pair serves to shift from a more compact and centered fuzz to a more open, rougher fuzz, while keeping the ability to fine-tune frequencies with Treble/Bass. And this is where Lasso changes the game: in series, it acts as a gain staging tool; in parallel, it becomes a texture mixer that can preserve definition while maintaining the fuzz's unstable and inspiring character.
