Historical Context and Positioning in the Range

Designed and manufactured in the United Kingdom, the Orange Oriverb was born from the collaboration between Orange and guitarist Orianthi. The idea is simple: start from the highly appreciated Rockerverb MKIII 50 Neo Combo base and configure it to create a signature amp that is both inspiring and immediately usable, with a unique aesthetic (patterned white tolex) that breaks with the brand's usual codes.

Within the Orange lineup, the Oriverb clearly sits at the top end of the 2-channel tube combos: a "pro" tool designed to withstand rehearsals, studio work, and live shows, while remaining flexible enough to cover multiple styles without multiplying pedals.

Who This Amp Is For

The Orange Oriverb is aimed at intermediate to advanced guitarists who want a true "tube amp" feel under their fingers, with dynamic response and saturation that reacts to the pick. Thanks to the 25W mode, it remains relevant for home studios and rehearsals, while the 50W power and 2 x 12 format make it an excellent choice for live performance, especially in modern rock, hard rock, classic rock, gritty blues, and pop-rock.

If you play with pedals (drive, delay, modulation), the Oriverb is designed for that too: buffered effects loop and simple architecture to dial in settings easily, ideal for switching from a crafted clean to a denser dirty channel without struggling with EQ.

Features and Innovations

The Oriverb offers 2 channels with very straightforward ergonomics. The Clean channel is essential (Volume, Bass, Treble) for quickly shaping a balanced clean tone, ranging from crystalline clarity to a slight edge-of-breakup depending on your guitar and attack. The Dirty channel adds a Gain control and a fuller EQ (Bass, Middle, Treble) to go from snappy crunch to thick saturations, with strong low-end presence and a typically British midrange.

The shared reverb (footswitchable) adds air to both clean and saturated sounds. The attenuator (footswitchable) and the 50W/25W switch make the amp easier to adapt to your actual volume needs (apartment, recording, rehearsal, club). Finally, the buffered effects loop is a real asset for preserving clarity and level of your time-based and modulation effects, especially at stage volume.

The Sound

With its 2 x EL34 power section, the Oriverb delivers a pronounced British character: expressive mids, a crisp attack, and natural compression that appears when pushing the amp, perfect for singing leads. The clean remains defined and spacious thanks to the 2 x 12 format, with enough headroom for solid clean tones while handling overdrives and fuzz pedals very well.

On the Dirty channel, you get a harmonically rich drive capable of articulated crunches as well as thick, dense saturations without losing chord clarity. In terms of "usage references," the Oriverb is naturally associated with Orianthi 's playing style and has also been spotted in Don Felder 's rig, illustrating its positioning: a combo designed for expressive, broad, and immediately musical guitar tones.
