Ortega: a modern approach to luthiery
Founded in 1994, Ortega designs its instruments with German engineering and a manufacturing standard inspired by traditional methods. The brand has built a solid reputation thanks to regular quality controls and the integration of technical choices usually reserved for higher-end ranges. The RUNAB-UB fits this logic: a ukebass designed to offer a refined experience, both acoustically and amplified.
For whom, and for which styles?
The RUNAB-UB is aimed at curious bassists, ukulele players wanting to explore low frequencies, and all musicians looking for a compact instrument to compose, travel, or complete a set. Its short scale format and cutaway make it accessible from the beginner level while remaining expressive enough for intermediate use in pop, funk, reggae, world, electro-acoustic, and unplugged accompaniment.
Sound
The choice of solid bamboo for the top, back, and sides promotes a quick response and direct projection, with a clear attack and good note definition. The presence of an F-hole contributes to more focused sound diffusion and an original aesthetic, highlighted by the black ABS binding. Plugged in, the Ortega MagusUkePro electronics deliver a usable and balanced signal, while the built-in tuner facilitates quick changes during rehearsals and on stage.
Recommended compatible accessories
This RUNAB-UB comes with a luxury gig bag, ideal for daily transport and protection.
