The Ovation "bowl back" spirit in the Pro Series Ultra version
Featuring its central soundhole (Center Soundhole) and Lyrachord back, this Pro Series Ultra embodies Ovation's DNA: an electro-acoustic designed to deliver reliable and consistent performance, especially in amplified contexts. The "Ultra" designation emphasizes a higher level of finish, notably thanks to the thermo-treated solid top and the very thin UV lacquer, designed to preserve resonance while showcasing a modern visual identity.
Who is this electro-acoustic for?
This guitar is aimed at intermediate to advanced guitarists seeking an expressive acoustic instrument, but above all a reliable stage partner. The Mid-Depth format without cutaway favors sonic foundation and overall comfort: excellent for strumming, pop/rock, modern folk, and pick accompaniment. With a nut width of 42.8 mm / 1.69", it remains agile for fingerstyle while maintaining a natural neck feel.
Sound characteristics
The thermo-treated solid spruce top provides clarity, a crisp attack, and well-articulated mids, with a more "open" and already balanced feel. The quartersawn X bracing enhances dynamic stability and response consistency, useful when alternating between soft playing and strong attacks. The Lyrachord Mid-Depth body contributes to clear projection and tight lows, with particularly convincing behavior once plugged in. When amplified, the K-21CT preamp (with built-in tuner) is designed for immediate control, convenient for rehearsals, recording, and live performance.
