Historical Context and Positioning Within the Range
The PST7 series fits within the Paiste Sound Technology philosophy: offering demanding sound design and meticulous manufacturing while remaining affordable. Within the Paiste universe, the PST7 holds a key position for drummers seeking a traditional aesthetic and a proven sonic character, with a recognized alloy, bronze CuSn8. The manufacturer highlights a lineage with the legendary "2002" family, clearly positioning the PST7 towards an energetic, bright, and effective sound in a mix.Who This Drum/Instrument Is For
The Paiste PST7 cymbal targets a very broad audience: from the progressing drummer who wants to upgrade without breaking the bank, to the experienced musician looking for a reliable and coherent cymbal for rehearsals and concerts. Its sound profile, described as bright, lively, energetic, powerful and cutting with clarity, makes it an excellent choice for styles where the attack must be clear: rock, pop, funk, punk, metal, but also more open contexts when definition and a clear presence are desired. Thanks to its ability to perform at all volume levels, it adapts equally well to nuanced playing or more forceful live performance.Technical specifications

Very pleasantly surprised by this cymbal. Initially I was just looking for a crash 14 that was not too bad but not too expensive to complete my set but the PST7 thin went beyond my expectations. Simple but beautiful in appearance, it generates a brilliant crash without being aggressive, slightly dry with well-balanced sustain. The feeling under the stick is soft and pleasant and there's no need to hit like a lumberjack to make it sound, besides, it's not made for that.
I was not really a fan of the Paiste brand but I must admit that the latest series appeal to me more and more. I also have a PST8 splash and a PSTX trash crash and all of them sound really good and are superb. I am also thinking of making myself a complete PST7 set later if the other cymbals in the series are of the same level. very good quality/price ratio, impeccable finish.Automatically translated
