Historical Context and Positioning in the Range

The Masters series was born from an ambitious project: an initial assembly of twelve rides, each carefully crafted from CuSn20 bronze to achieve high sonic ideals suited to many musical contexts. In 2014, the range expanded with three crashes and two hi-hats to extend this unique sonic atmosphere to other cymbal families. The Masters synthesize decades of cymbal-making expertise, inspired by international drummers, with a clear demand: to offer a refined, expressive, and immediately recognizable sound signature.

Target Audience for This Drum/Instrument

This Masters series Crash Ride is aimed at intermediate to expert drummers seeking a cymbal more "interactive" than a standard model: sensitive response, nuanced touch, and a wide palette of colors. It excels in styles where dynamics are key (modern jazz, fusion, sophisticated pop, indie, cinematic music), while remaining relevant in rock when a darker, deeper, and less "bright" sound than a projection-type cymbal is preferred.

Features and Innovations

The Crash/Ride Mix concept is central to its positioning: a cymbal capable of easy crashing with a quick swell, while offering ride definition usable as soon as the tempo is established on top. Its thin profile promotes immediate vibration, helping to play at low volume without losing body, and to achieve rich accents without effort. In a kit, it can become the "central" cymbal: the one chosen when transitioning from a groove on the ride to a chorus crash without changing the playing area or breaking the flow.

Sound Characteristics

The CuSn20 bronze, often associated with "traditional bronze," is prized for its harmonic complexity and ability to generate rich harmonics with natural depth. Here, this material contributes to a dark color, a present but not aggressive attack, and a very wide spectrum: round fundamentals, expressive mids, and clear highs.

The "thin, dark, penetrating" character results in a cymbal that speaks quickly and "breathes" under the stick. When crashed, it delivers a wide, musical opening with a progressive harmonic unfolding. When used as a ride, the definition remains usable while maintaining an enveloping sensation, ideal for coloring a pattern rather than hardening it. The result: a cymbal of texture, nuance, and relief, designed for drummers who care as much about timbre as groove.
