Sound and Design

Thanks to its ABS plastic body, the instrument offers a generally direct and comfortable response to sound production: useful for working on breath control and lip vibration. The typical tone of an ABS trumpet tends to be a bit softer and less "metallic" than a brass model, while remaining sufficiently present to play in groups during rehearsals or outdoors.

The bell (120 mm) contributes to sound projection and the sensation of projection. The presence of a water key (also called "spit valve") allows quick evacuation of condensation, an important point to maintain stable sound production and avoid water noises inside the instrument. In terms of playability, the pistons (valves) are at the heart of intonation: they change the length of the air column to produce notes.
