Features and Innovations

The shells are offered in F.A.S.T. depths, a choice that promotes a quick response and a more "immediate" feel under the sticks, while maintaining the natural sustain of maple. The STM tom suspension minimizes contact points with the shell to let the tom breathe, improve resonance, and stabilize tuning, especially when playing loudly or with tight mounting. The True Pitch tension rods provide a progressive and more precise tension increase, appreciated for fine-tuning pitch and quickly regaining tuning after transport. There are also molded bass drum claws, robust and reliable, designed to withstand tension without shifting, and hoops matched to shell size for even contact and better response consistency.

Sound Characteristics

European maple is renowned for its ability to produce a rich and balanced sound: round lows, present mids (very useful for cutting through a mix), and smooth highs that avoid harshness. On a bass drum like the 22x18, this translates to a solid low-end foundation with enough attack to remain clear in a band, especially if you use an internal mic or slight muffling.

The 7-ply toms offer a good balance between projection and control. They provide natural sustain, easy to shape depending on heads and tuning: higher tuning for an open, singing tone, or lower tuning for deep, "fat" toms. The STM suspension helps preserve this resonance, giving a sensation of freer, fuller toms that are often easier to EQ in the studio.

The 14x5.5 snare in 10-ply gains in focus and attack, with a sharp rimshot and good stability at high volume. It's a very versatile size: sensitive enough for ghost notes but capable of delivering a powerful backbeat in rock and pop. With Remo heads, the response is generally immediate, facilitating quick adaptation whether you prefer an open or more controlled sound.
