Summary of This Method

Designed to help you discover, practice, and above all play arpeggios, this method is aimed at any guitarist who wants to go beyond mechanical positions and transform chord shapes into musical material. Arpeggios, defined here as the successive playing of the notes of a chord, quickly become a central tool to structure a solo, target the strong notes of a progression, and create melodic lines that "sing".

The book takes the time to establish solid foundations around chord construction : 3-note chords (major, minor), then 4-note chords (maj7, m7, seventh, half-diminished), and finally richer colors with 5-note chords (9th). The goal is not abstract theory, but to link each concept to an immediate application on the guitar, thanks to numerous guided examples.

Throughout the pages, you will find solo examples to develop improvisation, as well as riff ideas to integrate arpeggios into a more rhythmic playing style, useful both in group settings and solo playing. To reinforce practical work, the provided recordings include on one hand videos showing the playing precisely (normal tempo then slow motion), and on the other hand audio playbacks at two speeds. Enough to rehearse, gain precision, then create your own phrases and variations based on the suggested arpeggios.
