The CE 24: The Bolt-On Spirit According to PRS
Since the first electric rock guitars, the bolt-on neck has been sought after for its tension, attack, and responsiveness. The PRS CE 24 follows the brand's iconic recipe - maple top on a mahogany body - and adds a bolt-on maple neck with a nitro satin finish for an exceptionally smooth feel. In the 2025 version, it features PRS Phase III locking tuners with Wing buttons, perfect for tuning stability.
Who Is It For, and Which Styles?
The PRS CE 24 is aimed at intermediate to advanced guitarists seeking a versatile electric guitar with fast playability and consistently clear tone. It excels in rock, blues, pop, fusion, and modern high-gain styles thanks to its sharp attack and efficient electronics. The PRS vibrato and coil split make it very comfortable switching from clean verses to saturated choruses without changing guitars.
The Sound
The combination of mahogany + carved maple delivers a full, singing low end with sharper highs and excellent definition in the mix. The bolt-on maple neck enhances attack and immediate response, ideal for tight rhythms and precise funk/rock lines. The PRS 85/15 pickups provide a wide, balanced output: in humbucker mode, you get body, sustain, and great articulation in overdrive; in split mode via the push/pull tone control, the guitar offers airier, snappier tones, very useful for cleans and arrangements.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
Delivered with a Premium Gig Bag, the PRS CE 24 is strung with 10-46 gauge strings: sticking with this gauge is an excellent choice to maintain the balance between comfort, tension, and tuning stability with the vibrato.
