A Revisited PRS Icon: From the 1985 Custom 24 to the 2024 Custom 24-08
A true emblem of PRS since 1985, the Custom 24 is the model that defined the brand's identity. This Custom 24-08 retains the fundamentals (24 frets, 25" / 635 mm scale length, carved maple on mahogany, PRS tremolo), while pushing sonic flexibility further with electronics designed to multiply tonal colors. In 2024, PRS also updates several Core models with "Wing" tuner buttons, which are lighter to better preserve string vibration energy and promote longer resonance.
For Whom and Which Styles?
The PRS Custom 24-08 is aimed at intermediate to expert guitarists seeking a premium instrument, reliable both in the studio and on stage, without limiting themselves to a single sonic aesthetic. With its humbuckers and splits, it covers a wide range: rock, pop, fusion, funk, modern blues, and even cleaner, single-coil-typical textures, all with the fast playability associated with the Thin neck profile.
The Sound
The combination of carved maple top + mahogany body is a classic PRS formula: maple brings attack, precision, and clear definition in the highs, while mahogany enhances the mids, thickness, and sustain. The TCI pickups are designed to offer a balance between power and clarity, with rich humbucker harmonics and more open sounds when split. The 3-position selector + two mini-switches system allows quick shifts from a dense, singing tone to more snappy, articulated registers, including a two single-coil configuration ideal for tight rhythms and detailed arpeggios.

Is the PRS Custom 24-08 Antique White suitable for rock and funk?
This model covers rock, pop, fusion, funk, and modern blues thanks to its two switchable TCI pickups. The three-position selector and two mini-switches offer several configurations, from humbuckers to split sounds with a snappier attack.
What is the scale length and neck profile?
The Thin neck combines a 25-inch (635 mm) scale length with 24 frets on a rosewood fingerboard. The double cutaway provides easy access to the upper frets.
What wood is used for the body of this guitar?
