A Custom 24 Continuing the Original Legacy, with a "2025" Spirit
Born as an iconic PRS model, the Custom 24 originally laid the foundation for a premium electric guitar: precise craftsmanship, modern comfort, and great versatility. This Custom 24-08 retains the fundamentals (mahogany body, carved maple top, 24 frets, PRS vibrato) and adds a more flexible approach thanks to the TCI pickups and electronics designed to multiply textures without complicating handling.
For Whom, and For Which Styles?
The PRS Custom 24-08 is aimed at intermediate to expert guitarists who want a "Swiss Army knife" solidbody with impeccable finish quality. Its 25"/635 mm scale length, combined with the Thin neck profile, promotes speed and precision: perfect for modern rock, pop, funk, punchy blues, and melodic metal. The switching options and EQ mini-switches allow you to go from a wide, dense sound to a clearer, sharper response, ideal in a band setting.
The Tone
The mahogany + maple duo is a classic PRS recipe: mahogany brings body, warmth, and generous sustain, while the carved maple top adds attack, definition, and projection. The TCI pickups leverage this foundation with a very dynamic response, capable of remaining clear on rich chords as well as solos. The 3-position selector and the two EQ mini-switches (high-pass filters) provide a real lever to adjust the amount of low-mids and gain clarity, especially on saturated tones or rigs already heavy in bass.

Questions frequently asked
What sounds do the PRS Custom 24-08 EQ mini-switches produce?
The two mini-switches engage high-pass filters when set to the up position. They reduce the amount of low-mids to deliver a clearer response, especially when using distortion or a bass-heavy rig.
Is the Thin neck and 25-inch scale suitable for fast playing?
The Thin profile combined with the 25" (635 mm) scale length promotes precision and speed. The 24 frets and double cutaway also facilitate access to the upper registers.
Which pickups are installed on this guitar?
This setup uses two TCI pickups, one at the neck position and one at the bridge. A three-way selector, one volume, and one tone control provide the basic settings.
What is the construction of the PRS Custom 24-08 Aurora Borealis?
The body is mahogany with a carved maple top, while the one-piece neck is also mahogany. The fingerboard is rosewood with Birds inlays, and the finish is Dark Aurora Borealis. This combination offers body and sustain, with added attack thanks to the maple.
Is the guitar delivered with a case and which tuners are used?
A case is included, featuring PRS Phase III locking tuners with Wing buttons. The installed tremolo is a patented PRS Gen III, and the original strings are gauge 10-46.
