From Private Stock to a Core Line Staple
Born from a collaboration of over 20 years between PRS Guitars and David Grissom, the DGT Semi-Hollow carries the DNA of the PRS McCarty, refined according to the Texas guitarist's demands. Initially produced in limited runs, this semi-hollow version joins the Core line with the acclaimed DGT specifications (22 frets, 25" scale length, signature neck profile) plus the added soul of a semi-hollow body.
For Which Guitarist and Styles?
Designed for the discerning intermediate to professional player, this PRS effortlessly covers blues, rock, Americana, country, pop, and fusion. The two volume controls allow precise balance in the middle position, while the push/pull tone expands the palette to brighter, single-coil-like textures.
The Sound
The semi-hollow body softens the high end, lightens the lows, and opens up the mids: the guitar "breathes," with natural sustain and quick attack. The DGT pickups deliver an articulated vintage grain, capable of shifting from a three-dimensional clean to a dense, singing overdrive. The push/pull tone enables coil splitting for snappy rhythms and crystalline arpeggios. The PRS Gen II vibrato maintains tuning accuracy, and the 25" scale length balances string tension, attack, and comfort.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
To maintain the original setup, choose a set of 11-49 strings with plain G. Add a quality standard strap, a reliable straight/angled jack cable, and a stable guitar stand. A hard case is included for transport and protection.
