From Private Stock to the PRS Core Range

The result of over twenty years of collaboration between PRS and David Grissom, the DGT Semi-Hollow is inspired by a personal Private Stock model before joining the Core range. It retains the DNA of the DGT (a refined evolution of the McCarty) while adding the organic character of a semi-hollow body for an expressive and responsive instrument both on stage and in the studio.

Designed for intermediate to expert guitarists, this PRS shines in blues, classic rock, country, pop, and roots/americana. Its controlled dynamics and more manageable feedback compared to a solid body make it a top choice for high-volume gigs as well as sensitive recording sessions.

Sound

The DGT humbuckers deliver a warm and articulate tone, with silky highs and firm lows. The semi-hollow body provides openness and depth while promoting natural compression and singing sustain. The dual volume controls allow fine blending of the pickups, the push/pull tone pot offers a credible coil split for snappier textures, and the 3-way selector covers everything from the smoothness of the neck pickup to the bite of the bridge pickup. The mahogany/maple combination and nickel hardware ensure an ideal balance between precision, harmonic richness, and versatility.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

To maintain the original tension and balance, choose an electric string set with a gauge of 11-49 and a plain G string. Add a quality leather strap and a standard electric guitar capo. A sturdy stand and a low-capacitance instrument cable will perfectly complete your setup.
