From the 1987 "Standard" to today's S2
Heir to the all-mahogany PRS models launched in 1987, the S2 Standard 24 continues the "musician's guitar" approach: reliable craftsmanship, proven electronics, and a price point designed for the stage. Reimagined in the S2 series, it retains the warm and percussive character of mahogany, an asymmetrical carved top, and pickguard-mounted electronics that emphasize its clean aesthetic.
Who is it for and what styles?
Designed for intermediate to advanced guitarists seeking a versatile electric, it excels in rock, blues, pop, funk, and indie, and ventures effortlessly into hard rock. The 24 frets and PRS scale length provide comfort, precision, and intonation across the entire neck, ideal both in the studio and on tour.
The Sound
The mahogany body offers present mids and a full low end, while the rosewood fingerboard adds a silky high end. The 58/15 LT pickups deliver a vintage and expressive voicing: a warm and singing neck pickup, a sharper bridge pickup, and refined intermediate tones thanks to the 5-position selector. The PRS molded vibrato adds attack and brightness without sacrificing tuning stability, for long and controlled sustain.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
To preserve character and tuning stability: a set of nickel electric strings 10-46 gauge (standard tuning), a sturdy guitar strap (leather or nylon), an electric guitar capo, and a quality 6.35 mm jack cable. The "Gig Bag" case is already included for transport.
