The Revisited Vela: HHT Configuration in the S2 Range
An offset icon of the S2 series, the Vela has won over guitarists for its ergonomics and unique tone. The HHT version modernizes the original by adopting a pair of DS-01 humbuckers and a PRS tremolo, while retaining the PRS DNA: American manufacturing, meticulous finishes, and rock-solid reliability. An evolution designed to offer more tonal textures and playing flexibility.
Who Is This PRS S2 Vela HHT For?
Ideal for intermediate to expert guitarists seeking an agile and inspiring electric guitar. It excels in indie/rock, pop, funk and performs very well in blues and alternative. Its comfort and tuning stability make it equally suitable for rehearsals, studio work, and touring.
Sound
The DS-01 exposed pole pickups deliver a precise clear register, present mids, and firm lows. In humbucker mode, you get a dense and musical tone with generous sustain supported by the mahogany. The split via the push/pull tone control adds more sculpted and airy single-coil-like colors. The 3-position selector covers bridge, middle, and neck positions, while the PRS tremolo provides smooth vibrato without sacrificing stability, supported by locking tuners. Result: a wide, responsive palette always usable in a mix.
