Launched in 2018 with John Mayer, the Silver Sky brought vintage aesthetics and classic "old school" playing sensations back to the forefront, while adding PRS manufacturing consistency. The PRS SE Silver Sky retains the essential markers of the original model (inverted PRS Silver Sky headstock, 635JM profile, component choices) in a more accessible version, without sacrificing the "stage and studio" spirit. Finished in "Derby Red", this variant asserts a character as timeless as it is striking, now available in left-handed.

Ideal for the ambitious beginner to intermediate/advanced player, the SE Silver Sky LH feels immediately familiar: the 25.5" / 648 mm scale length provides tension and attack, while the 8.5" / 216 mm radius maintains a comfortable "vintage" feel for crisp rhythms and singing phrasing. It excels in pop, funk, blues, soul, indie, and rock, delivering sculpted clean tones and edgy crunches that retain definition in the mix.

Tone

The three PRS 635JM "S" single-coil pickups offer a sharp attack, silky highs, and rounded lows, with a detailed "chime" character that highlights right-hand nuances. The poplar body promotes responsiveness and clarity, the bolt-on maple neck enhances precision, and the rosewood fingerboard adds a slight warmth to the highs for velvety cleans. The 5-position selector switch covers wide neck sounds, elastic "quack" intermediate positions, up to the sharper bridge pickup for cutting through a band. With 1 volume and 2 tone controls, the settings remain intuitive, and the PRS 2-point steel vibrato allows expressive vibratos while maintaining excellent tuning stability.

To maintain the original feel and tension, a set of 10-46 electric strings is a safe choice. A strap with classic attachments and a 6.35 mm instrument jack cable (straight or right-angled) will easily complete your setup. A PRS SE gig bag is included for everyday transport.
