A 2024 S2: the series that brings the PRS workshop closer to musicians' daily lives
After ten years of existence, the PRS S2 range evolves in 2024 with the integration of pickups and electronic components made in the United States. This S2 Standard 22 is part of this update: a guitar designed for stage and studio, retaining the PRS DNA (fine finish, playability, tonal balance) while remaining immediately effective "plug and play."
For which guitarists and styles?
The PRS S2 Standard 22 is aimed at intermediate to advanced guitarists who want a reliable, expressive instrument ready to withstand rehearsals, concerts, and sessions. Its versatile character suits rock, blues, pop, and funk as well as more modern genres requiring good definition under gain, especially with pedals and high-gain amplifiers.
The sound
The combination of mahogany body + set mahogany neck provides a dense low-midrange, full attack, and a very present sustain feel, ideal for leads and open chords that ring out. The PRS 58/15 LT (humbucker) pickups add superior clarity in the highs and articulated mids, helping maintain clarity in crunch and saturation. The 5-position selector multiplies tonal colors, from round and singing sounds to more snappy and dynamic textures, allowing you to switch from tight rhythm to solo without changing instruments.
Recommended compatible accessories
To stay true to the original spirit, a set of 10-46 gauge strings (0.010"-0.046" / 0.254-1.168 mm) is perfectly suited. For your signal chain, a 6.35 mm instrument jack cable of quality and a stable guitar stand are reliable everyday choices.
