A PRS Standard Reinvented for the S2 Series (2024 Update)
The original PRS Standard, launched in 1987, draws inspiration from the "all mahogany" guitars dear to Paul Reed Smith. The S2 Standard 24 carries on this spirit in a formula designed for today's musicians: clean look, vintage-style pickguard, and proven design. In 2024, the PRS S2 series evolves with the integration of pickups and electronic components made in the USA, further enhancing the character and precision of this stage-ready guitar.
For Which Guitarists and Styles?
This PRS targets intermediate to advanced guitarists seeking a versatile guitar, comfortable both plugged directly into an amp or through a pedalboard. Thanks to its 24 frets and ergonomics, it is perfectly suited for rock, blues, pop, fusion, and alternative styles, with excellent response in both clean tones and overdriven sounds.
The Sound
The mahogany body and neck duo provides a rich and balanced tonal foundation, with powerful mids, full lows, and very present natural sustain. The asymmetrical carved top contributes to comfort and instrument response, while the PRS 58/15 LT pickups (treble and bass) deliver an expressive range: defined attacks, clear highs, and a warm grain that remains articulate when pushing the gain. The 5-position selector allows exploring multiple combinations to cover a wide spectrum, from articulate cleans to denser, singing tones.
Recommended Compatible Accessories
The guitar comes with a Gig Bag, so you're already ready for transport. The original 10-46 gauge strings are a simple reference to keep if you want to maintain the factory feel and setup balance.
