A New Face for the Swamp Ash Special in the PRS Bolt-On Range

With this 2025 version of the Swamp Ash Special, PRS expands its Bolt-On family with a guitar of strong character: swamp ash provides a more "twangy" sonic identity and immediate attack while retaining PRS's DNA in terms of finish and precision. The addition of two coil-splitting mini-switches on this model further broadens the tonal spectrum, making it a PRS designed to cover a wide range of styles without being limited to a single register.

Designed for intermediate to advanced players who want one guitar capable of performing both in the studio and on stage, the Swamp Ash Special excels when it comes to switching between colors: hot country, blues, jazz, modern pop, funk, and rock. The PRS tremolo and tuning stability also invite nuances, vibratos, and subtle effects without sacrificing reliability.

The Sound

Swamp ash is known for its solid lows, bright but smooth highs, and well-defined attack: ideal for achieving that snappy "twang" while maintaining warmth. The 58/15 LT humbuckers frame the spectrum with a musical, balanced, and expressive tone, while the PRS Narrowfield in the middle position offers a texture closer to a single coil with better noise control. Thanks to the 5-position selector and coil splits, you can move from a full, singing sound to more biting and articulate tones, with very consistent volume levels from setting to setting.

This PRS comes with a Premium gig bag. To maintain the original feel, you can use a set of 10-46 gauge strings, identical to the factory setup.
