What PSP StereoController2 Is For

PSP StereoController2 is a stereo field control plugin designed to adjust, correct, and "rescue" poorly captured or unbalanced two-channel stereo tracks. It is suited for recording situations (mic pairs, live recordings, overheads, pianos, acoustic guitars) as well as studio productions where you want to reposition a source in the space, tighten an overly wide stereo image, or conversely widen a too narrow take to better fit the mix.

It is also very useful for more technical applications such as Mid-Side decoding to L/R, correcting inverted polarity or swapped channels, as well as broadcast needs (for example, mono-ing the bass to ensure cleaner playback on subwoofers or for more reliable vinyl cutting).

Main Features

Correction of imbalances and repositioning in the stereo field

When a stereo image leans to one side (level difference between channels, unstable centering, shifted center instrument), PSP StereoController2 offers several complementary approaches. You have a classic balance control, as well as finer adjustments dedicated to the center content and the sides, to recenter perception without altering the mix's foundation.

Time alignment and stereo take "rescue"

A slight arrival delay between two microphones can blur focus and weaken mono compatibility. The plugin offers a delay of up to 2 ms, sufficient to correct a typical distance mismatch between microphones, restoring a more stable and clearer image without manual editing.

Width management up to 400% and frequency shaping

To adapt a track to the mix, stereo width is adjustable and can be expanded up to 400% on too narrow takes, or reduced when the space becomes overwhelming. For even more musical control, dedicated sections allow applying independent adjustments on lows and/or highs: tightening the lows (or even making them mono) for a solid foundation, and opening the highs for more air and spatial sensation.

M-S tools, monitoring, and workflow safety

PSP StereoController2 includes a M-S decoder to convert Mid-Side tracks into L/R stereo. In case of wiring or export issues, you can also activate channel swap and polarity inversion on each channel. Finally, the correlation and balance meters help you monitor mono compatibility and energy distribution, a real plus in mixing and mastering.

Smooth adjustments, artifact-free

Parameters benefit from filtering for gradual changes, facilitating automation and real-time adjustments while limiting clicks and glitches. The processing relies on high-quality algorithms, suitable for demanding sessions.
