What PSP StereoPack Is For
PSP StereoPack is a suite of plug-ins designed to shape and secure the stereo image of a production. Whether you work on stems, recorded tracks, samples, or virtual instruments, the pack helps you add width, enhance the sense of space, correct routing or phase errors, and verify the compatibility of your choices in a mixing or mastering context. It is a valuable ally for achieving a clearer, more stable, and more "translatable" stereo image across different listening systems.
Main Features
PSP PseudoStereo: transforming a mono source into a stereo image
PSP PseudoStereo allows you to convert a mono signal into stereo by giving it characteristics similar to a recording made with two microphones. This approach is particularly useful for adding depth to elements from MIDI or sound libraries, such as percussion and drum samples recorded in mono. You can thus create a sensation of "more powerful" and livelier drums while maintaining a coherent foundation in the mix. The module can also be used in remastering when you want to restore spatial dimension to mono sources.
PSP StereoEnhancer: widening and improving spatialization
PSP StereoEnhancer focuses on enhancing the sense of space of a stereo track. Thanks to its three processing modes, it adapts to different types of audio content, making it easier to achieve a relevant result depending on the material (acoustic instruments, narrower recordings, archival recordings, etc.). It can be used both to clarify and open an existing stereo image and to add breadth to less flattering stereo sources, including in mastering new musical content.
PSP StereoController: correcting stereo errors and adjusting the image
PSP StereoController is designed to correct common stereophonic errors, including phase inversion and channel swapping. Beyond "technical" correction, it also allows for more subtle adjustments of the stereo image to recenter, rebalance, or better organize the soundstage. It is a particularly useful tool in mastering, especially when decisions were made under imperfect listening conditions and the final rendering needs to be secured before export.
PSP StereoAnalyser: measuring, visualizing, and validating stereo
PSP StereoAnalyser provides reliable stereo reading by displaying mean and peak level measurements in L/R or M/S. It also offers an oscilloscope-type visualization, very practical for quickly spotting phase errors and channel imbalances. In production, it is an excellent way to verify that stereo widening remains controlled and that your mix retains good mono compatibility, without surprises during playback.

Questions frequently asked
Can PSP StereoPack widen a mono track?
The PSP PseudoStereo module converts a mono source into a stereo image, especially for MIDI percussion or mono drum samples.
How to fix phase inversion or swapped L/R channels?
PSP StereoController supports phase inversion and channel swapping. Adjustments to the stereo image also allow recentring or rebalancing of the sound stage.
Which plug-in in the pack allows controlling mono compatibility?
PSP StereoAnalyser displays average and peak levels in L/R or M/S, as well as an oscilloscope to detect phase issues and channel imbalances. These measurements help ensure that stereo widening remains controlled before distribution. The analysis notably aims to preserve mono compatibility of the mix.
Is PSP StereoPack compatible with Mac and Windows?
Compatibility covers Mac OS X 10.8 or later, as well as Windows XP SP2, Vista, and 7 in 32 or 64-bit.
Does PSP StereoPack offer multiple stereo widening modes?
PSP StereoEnhancer features three processing modes to adapt the spatial enhancement to different stereo content.
